FIVE | UEFA EURO 2024

For this UEFA EURO 2024 YouTube intro, I was supplied with a single piece of illustrated key artwork featuring a selection of players. My role was to develop and animate a complete opening sequence, transforming the static illustration into a fully realised motion piece.

I extended the original artwork by creating additional frames and compositions, allowing the animation to flow beyond the supplied asset. The hand-drawn illustration style directly informed the animation language, with players appearing as if they’re being drawn into frame, supported by textured backgrounds and dynamic transitions.

The final result is a bold, character-driven animated intro designed for digital platforms, combining illustration, motion design and video editing to create a distinctive, high-energy opening sequence optimised for YouTube and social media.
