ASH Ad Astra - Motion Graphics

I was asked by Ash to create a series of motion graphics based on the Ad Astra artwork by Peter Lloyd, spanning the main album cover, alternative artwork, and tour poster. Across each piece, I developed a cinematic animation style inspired by ’80s sci-fi, using the Flying V guitar as a recurring visual motif, from its dramatic lift-off in the cover animation to a high-energy 3D fly-through in the poster execution.

By combining 2D artwork with 3D animation, layered depth, and atmospheric effects such as lens flares, light blooms, and camera movement, I transformed the original illustrations into dynamic, narrative-led visuals. The result was a cohesive set of animated album artwork and music campaign assets, optimised for digital and social formats, each sharing a bold, cinematic identity while showcasing different moments from the Ad Astra universe.
